Lakecia Gunter, `95, Leads Team that Won Intel’s Top Software Award
Lakecia Gunter, Computer Engineering `95, is a validation manager at Intel. Gunter and her team recently won an Intel Software Quality Award for their work on the Cafe tool, a tool that helps to identify bugs in CPU’s and enables Intel to deliver the highest quality processors across multiple market segments.

Lakecia Gunter manages a team of software developers and engineers responsible for the development, delivery, and support of Intel’s primary random instruction test tool (RIT). RIT is used to validate and ensure the overall quality of all microprocessor products produced by the world’s largest semiconductor chip maker.

This year’s event will have speakers ranging from technical, marketing and legislative backgrounds. The day will conclude with a noon panel on “Business Innovation and Intuition.” The speakers will present in a Ted talk format and share through informative storytelling. The all female line-up includes Aimee Fahey, Della Rae, Veronika Noize, Monique Hayward and Cathey Armillas. After the presentations, event goers will engage in a lively panel discussion with local experts. The notable panel consists of Cheryl Myers from the Governor’s Office of Economic & Business Equity, Patrick Lamb of Patrick Lamb Productions, Lakecia Gunter of Intel, Greg Wolley, the City of Portland’s Small Business Marketing Manager and Laura Stepp of Puppet Labs Transformation Project. After the main activities of the day, UEN members will be given further networking opportunities to during the Start-Up Oregon Launch.
